LINDSEY & LEWIS
18th June 2026 | Florence, Tuscany
Our
STORY

Over the course of a year, we just happened to bump into each other again and again, and after each meeting feeling that little bit closer. You could say the chemistry was certainly there. One night, after some of our now-famous dancing, Lewis made the move and we had our first kiss (arguably not in the most romantic location, but nevertheless…), it was the start of something neither of us expected to become so special.
From there, our relationship blossomed. We spent a few more days together before Lindsey had to head back to Manchester, and we decided to give the relationship a go, why not? For the next year, we made it work long-distance: a weekend in Manchester, a weekend in York… and honestly, it was perfect (distance makes the heart grow stronger, no?).
Eventually, we made the tough decision to save money. After all, how else could we travel the world and buy a house? This meant moving in with Lindsey’s mum (and of course, Baxter), who welcomed Lewis into her home and life with open arms, something he’ll always be grateful for. And after two and a half years of living with your parents on and off, we knew there wasn’t much we couldn’t overcome!
Fast forward to travelling the world, a trip neither of us will ever forget, buying our first home, selling our first home, oh, and spending three months in Portugal. We then moved to Manchester and have enjoyed its food, its bars, (not so much its football), and countless weekends with friends and family.
So, after nine years, a few bumps, plenty of thrills, a move here, a move there, some crazy life choices and countless happy memories, we’re stronger than ever and now counting down to that all-important day.
THE PROPOSAL
So how did we get to this moment? Well, let us tell you...
Our stunning trip to Santorini couldn’t have ended without one truly unforgettable moment.
One evening, we got dressed in our best outfits for a private dinner (or so Lindsey thought). We strolled through the town and took a trip to the old fishing village, with breathtaking views of the caldera. As we made our way to the restaurant, Lewis spotted what looked like the proposal spot and did his best to keep Lindsey’s eyes elsewhere so as not to spoil the surprise (and succeeded!).
Once we arrived, Lindsey enjoyed an Aperol Spritz while Lewis snuck away to “select the table.” (Although by this point, Lindsey might have started to suspect something was up, given it was a private dinner!) Lewis took his place among candles and flowers atop the old building, overlooking the ocean with the sun casting a golden shimmer across the waves. Just as he was ready, the music started… and in walked Lindsey.
With a grin from cheek to cheek and a soft tear in her eye, she walked over. We took a moment to soak it all in, and then Lewis got down on one knee and said those four life-changing words.
What. A. Day.

Travel
AND STAY

Tenuta Corbinaia is located in Monterspetoli, approximately a 50 minute drive from central Florence. The closest airport is Amerigo Vespucci which is in Florence, but it is only small so flights may be limited. You can also fly to Pisa International and then get a train to Florence or towns nearer to the venue, which include Empoli and Certaldo.
We recommend staying at Hotel Certaldo, a lovely 4 star hotel that's a 30 minute drive from the venue. We will be arranging transport to and from this hotel and the venue on the Wedding day, so we recommend staying here so you don't need to worry about sorting a transfer yourself. Here's a link to the hotel: https://www.hotelcertaldo.it
To travel to the hotel, you can get a train to Certaldo and then it's approximately a 15 minute walk or a 3 minute drive.

To book a room, you can either book directly through their website, or you can email the hotel asking to book using this code: LIN&LEW.
Website: Hotel Certaldo Booking
If bookings are made well in advance, the hotel may be able to offer a small discount.
If booking through the hotel website, please mention our code in the Requests so we can monitor who will be requiring the transfer.
Alternatively, if you would prefer to stay elsewhere, please see some other hotel options below:
Villa I Barronci Resport & Spa
There are also lots of Airbnbs in Empoli which is around a 15 minute drive from the venue and has its own train station.
Please note any guests who are not staying at Hotel Certaldo are required to pre-book taxis to arrive by 3:00pm and depart before 1:00am.
